Slim Aubie’s Chicken began when a group of Auburn University students came together with a shared goal: to create a high-quality product for people with busy lives—just like ours. Between cramming for exams, racing to rec league practice, and managing part-time jobs, we constantly found ourselves sacrificing nutrition and flavor for convenience. The choices in grocery aisles didn’t make it any easier. Cold cuts were either bland, overly processed, or just plain uninspiring. And frozen meals? Either too expensive or too questionable.

That’s when we had a lightbulb moment—and the chicken steak was born.

We asked ourselves: What if there was something in the middle? A protein-packed option that was just as convenient as deli meat, but made with real ingredients, bold seasoning, and a little more heart? We didn’t want something that felt like an afterthought—we wanted something that actually made lunch exciting again.
